Water-thin syrup, flat french toast, generic dry bacon, but great country fried steak. Although they were all very nice, I didn't appreciate being served by 3 different people. The check was brought with the food, and instead of being refilled at the table my glass was taken.

Would have never found this place if it wasnt because of groupon. Right of the bat the area around the place and the building looks a little sketchy in my opinion but once inside it's like a blast from the past. The place looks it's right out of the 90s. we were greeted with nothing but smiles and polite servers. Portion to price ratio is ridiculous huge! 8 bucks for huge pancakes plenty of eggs and hash browns. Their breakfast burrito is definitely worth the price. I'll see you guys soon!

Great place to go .when your hungry.

Good food, in general. The roast beef was kind of dry and the gravy was so thick it didn't even soak in. Needs to be a bit thinner. The flavor was good, though. Staff is very good and attentive.

Very tasty and inexpensive! If you're looking for a warm and inviting place to have a blue collar breakfast, this is your place.

We were taken care of very nicely. We were a party of 9. Food came out as ordered and drinks were kept full.

Little hole in the wall diner but they have great food! They are always busy! Waitresses are sweet ladies! It's a nice diner for the seniors for sure. I noticed a lot of regulars in the place. They had their own mugs. Kind of reminds me of back home in NY. Prices are pretty fair and the quality of food was tasty! If im on that side of town again, I'll be sure to stop back in!

We came here over expecting the taste of what I thought would be wonderful home cooked meals? My mom is not a very big eater she had the biscuits and gravy she said itwas good,I had the beef melt sandwich the melt was not melted the beef on my sandwich had a better chance when it was alive! Some one told me they had real French fries no they were frozen. The music was retro 50s but nothing else about Big train says were not McDonald's I'm disappointed by this very old establishment.

Good food at reasonable prices. This venue is a major upgrade from their old location on Nevada. I like the space between tables, I don't like sitting elbow to elbow with other guests. The wait staff are friendly and helpful. Sorry I forgot pictures.

Disgusting and Disappointed!Cold January afternoon and I ordered a senior Lunch Special for$8.95I got a Half COLD ROAST BEEF ON PLAIN WHITE BREAD WITH COLD SLICE OF CHEESE WITH PLAN CHIPS PICKLE AND CAN SOUP!! I MIGHT EXPECT THIS ON A PICNIC IN THE SUMMER BUT I WOULDN'T SERVE THIS TO ANYONE.The salad bar was crusty topping and scattered lettuce dropping

Got the breakfast burrito with green chili on top. Most excellent my dudes. Great coffee and service, great servers.

We've never been here before, despite living in the area for 25+ years. I'm sorry I've missed going here all that time! Great diner with fantastic service and friendly faces. Quick service too.

Very friendly and clean atmosphere! The wait on food was no time at all. I ordered the breakfast burrito and I was surprised by the fresh ingredients and size. This is your homemade mama's kitchen food! Green chile is pretty spot on as well. I left with more than I could eat and an overall great experience.

I have been going to Big Train sense I was a kid cruising Navada Ave. (I am now 66,) Have not crused Navada for many years. Still try to do breakfast most weekend's. They do it right. That is why they are still going strong.

Its beyond gross they have an RV parked outside the restaurant taking up all these parking space. I am not sure if they cook in this or what may be worse, is allowing someone to live in this RV in your parking lot. This is a parking lot for customers, not an RV park for you or your employees. This is not only a huge eyesore it is definitely a health hazard to all potential customers, so eat here at your own risk. What really caught my attention is the Big Train Family Restaurant is running water from inside the restaurant into the RV... If anyone has ever lived in this at any point an time, and they cook in this that is just gross. I don’t care how “clean†you think you’ve gotten the RV.

The minute we walk in we are always greeted with a friendly "Hello." Our waitress Britt came to our table with a smile and was so friendly. We have only been to this restaurant for breakfast and it has always been delicious. I ordered an Omelette and you can have it made any way you want. I had it with sausage, diced green chilis topped with a delicious green chili. My sister ordered the Train Wreck which he loved. The portions are large so we got a take home containers and ate it for two more breakfasts. The city will not let them put up a big sign so you have to really look for it. Going West it is on the right side of the street just east of Sonic.

It wasn't too bad normally the food is really good but today my wife's pancake was pretty thin and dried out so it wasn't very good.

Food was fantastic, and our server, Kristi made our experience 10x better! She’s so nice and funny. Will be back!

I love family dinner style restaurants, and it's one of the last places you can get grilled liver and onions, which is very well done there. The bar serves beer, screwdrivers, and bloody Marys. There is a salad bar that's very clean and well-kept. The restaurant is roomy and open so you never feel crowded. The pay system is great too, your card is scanned right at the table so it never leaves your sight. Very comfortable and enjoyable experience.

I haven't been here since the 80's. I liked it then, and I'm glad to see that hasn't changed. There's a reason it's been in business for so long. Good diner/comfort food. I had a big, good double cheeseburger with bacon and mushrooms, awesome. My wife had a club sandwich with fries. Both so good that we ate it all there rather than get a to go box. Clean place, friendly staff. Recommended.

First time there today. Nice, bright atmosphere. Friendly staff, very attentive. Ordered the breakfast burrito w/ green chili, which was good. Nice flavor, good heat, for the chili, hash browns were crispy, burrito itself was ok. My son order short stack, with bacon and over easy eggs. Pancakes were huge, but bland, eggs still runny for the whites, and the bacon was dry, overly salty and reminded me of bacon that had been batch cooked and set out all morning cold. I gave four stars for the atmosphere, service, and my meal was good.

How can you expect anything more from a family dinner. We were on the road and got everything we expected. The meatloaf is worthwhile experience and the desert was taken to go and devoured on the road. Totally yummy. Apple pie and a side of vanilla milkshake. My version of alamode... the remote server billing at the table was quick and easy, and the one trip salad bar was nice too. Give it a shot, you won't be disappointed.

Great new location. Food was great snd our server keep my coffee full and fresh.

A pretty good place. It's huge with lots of room. The tables aren't all crammed together like so many other places.

Just passing through and stopped by for food. Tried the meatloaf and it was amazing! Coleslaw was yummy too. Very fast friendly service. Portion sizes were nice and even kids menu had food my daughter would eat (picked grilled cheese). Very affordable and plenty of options to choose from. Will be back when in the area again.

We finally visited the new location and they really leveled up! Bright and clean, decorated with railroad memorabilia, we were offered a typical diner menu with a few specialties. We had a Groupon for dinner for 4 for $30 off and got a great deal. My son got the 1/2 lb cheeseburger with Swiss and it was thoroughly enjoyed. Sissy had red chili cheese fries that eventually came home in a go box. My hubby and I had biscuits and gravy. We even ordered an entree to go. The service was prompt and very friendly. JJ was a clean cut server who kept my coffee coming. They also offer a salad bar with standard options. We really like the upgrade, no disappointments at all.

Omg delicious. So clean. So friendly and knowledgeable. The green chili is made with corn starch instead of flour, so I can have some without feeling totally guilty. We walked right in and sat down, we were greeted by everyone who worked there, and thanked at the end. I loved it. I will be back frequently !

Feeling back in 80's eating style. Love Liver and Onion dish. Family style table just like as home, quite simple and nothing really fancy, excellent coffee and some drinks, kid friendly plus have good choice menu for kids, great for family or friends gets together! Have patio seating as well.
Mary Whichard
My server was excellent, very attentive, got my order and drink within minutes of getting seated. My dinner was served less than 10 minutes after ordering it. The food was a much larger portion than I'm used to, it was very good and it was served hot. I look forward to returning to try out their breakfast items soon. Best deal for the cost and the quality excellent!
Ben Rush
Just a great old school diner! Friendly staff and great service. Roast beef, mashed potatoes, patty melts, and all the good stuff.

Great locally owned restaurant. They keep it good because they keep it simple. Oh and the BEST grits in the west! We'll be back!

Good, clean atmosphere and environment. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs at 11:45am.... Guess what...Hot, fresh, and crisp!!! Didn’t even have to wait long.Wonderful price and service. Trust you’ll walk away full and satisfied!!!First time visitor will become familiar face!!
